Steak Restaurants in Glasgow
One of my favourite choices for eating out at restaurants is steak. There are quite a few to restaurants to choose from in Glasgow , and so I decided to pick two restaurants that I have recently been to. Again picking one lower cost option and an expensive alternative.
FF, Finsbay Flatiron
Finsbay is a steak restaurant located in the west end of Glasgow. This restaurant has a much smaller menu. I have been to this restaurant on a few occasions and have kept returning due to the value for food. The menu consists of two options for steak ; their signature flat iron and a spiced flat iron priced at £10-12. There are four other options for mains ; Thai noodle salad, FF burger, sietian steak (vegan), and a guest cut. The other options on the menu consist of toppers for the steak, sauces and sides.
What did I order... as described on the menu
- Signature flat iron steak with house salad
- Gouchgang prawn toppers
- Truffle and Parmesan Fries
- Mac and cheese topped with pancetta
Finsbay is one of my favourite places to go for steak purely because of the value. The low cost makes this a popular choice among students. The interior is rather contemporary fitting their target market. On Sundays, Finsbay host an open mic night which is popular among young adults for some great entertainment and cocktails.
VERDICT- Great value, amazing food and cocktails. Good for date nights/meeting up with friends

The Anchor Line
The Anchor Line is a New York style Bistro located just off of George Square. One of my favourite things about this restaurant is the interior. When you step in to the restaurant it as if you walk in to a different era. The interior reflects a first class experience of maritime cruises within the golden age of travelling (1930s/40s). The courteous staff, live pianists and extensive menu add to this experience.
What did I order ... as described on the menu
- Chateaubriand- 650g prime double cute fillet, medium rare for 2 persons. Served with garlic and basil cherry vine tomato confit and signature skinny fries/ buttermilk mash
- Half Lobster
- Peppercorn Sauce and Garlic Butter
The quality of food at this restaurant was exceptional. The steak was cooked perfectly and you could tell it was a high quality cut of steak. The restaurant itself is not cheap. The Chateaubriand with the lobster topper and two sauces ended up costing £99.95! The level of service , quality of food and overall ambience do make the price worth it.
VERDICT- The Anchor Line is great for an experience. It is not quite an everyday dining option but it is a great choice for special occasions.
